Background

Established in 1934, P.K. Yonge Developmental Research School is a public school district affiliated with, and located on the campus of, the University of Florida. Our K-12 school is a department of the College of Education and P.K. Yonge faculty are also faculty of the University of Florida.

The school serves approximately 1150 students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.

P.K. Yonge is designed as a special school district under Florida Department of Education funding and is given the responsibility to develop innovative solutions to educational concerns in the state and to disseminate successful instructional programs to other school districts.

As a developmental research school, P.K. Yonge works closely with members of the College of Education on a variety of projects aimed at enhancing student accomplishments at all grade levels and in all subject areas.
